  • Steve thompson

    Steve serves as our senior campus minister. He has been at Auburn University since 1996 and is married to Renee. They are members at Parkway Baptist Church in Auburn.

    Steve grew up in Mobile, became a Christ-follower as a teenager, and accepted a call to ministry as a high school student. He received his BA at Mobile College and his theological training with an MDiv from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. During his ministry tenure he has served as Senior Baptist Campus Minister, University of Alabama at Birmingham; Minister of Youth, Students and Young Single Adults, Southside Baptist Church, Birmingham; Campus Minister Intern, University of Louisville, Medical/Dental School; Associate Baptist Campus Minister, Oklahoma State University, Stillwater.

    Steve loves to read John Grisham novels, cycling, and time with family. His ministry satisfaction comes in the joy of helping students seek truth through God’s Word, watch Him transform their lives, and they go on to produce disciples for God’s Kingdom.

  • Sean Thornton

    Sean Thornton joined the staff at Auburn BCM in July 2017 as campus minister after serving as the BCM director at the University of Montevallo for 10 years.  Sean is an Auburn graduate and the BCM had a huge impact on his life as a student.  He and his wife Reagan met at the BCM.  They have 2 children, Clay and Prisha.

    Sean served 2 years with the North American Mission Board in Waterbury, CT, received his MDiv from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX, and spent 2 years at the BCM at the University of West Georgia.

    Sean loves Auburn football, spending time with his family, and playing video games with his son.  His greatest joy is seeing students grow deep in their relationship with Christ and their understanding of His word.

  • Ginger hughes

    Mrs. Ginger has served at Auburn BCM for the last 8 years. She is a an Auburn graduate and a retired school teacher. She is a mother to two children and grandmother to Brooks. She enjoys baking for college students, running and traveling.
